Please read and then scroll down for the links to book classes.

More info in each class section below.

Why don’t I see any openings on the calendar?  That means all available spots are already booked or the date you are looking for is too far in the future and we haven’t added the day to our schedule yet, we add classes on a monthly basis. Please check back to see if there have been any cancelations or days added, sign up for our email list and watch our socials for updates.

What can I make?  We offer ornaments, bowls, flowers, paperweight workshops, and seasonally pumpkins.

How much per class?  Please refer to each class section below for pricing.

How long does it take?   Ornaments – 15 minutes, bowls, flowers, and pumpkins – 20 minutes and paperweights approximately 1 hour. Then the piece needs to cool slowly overnight. They will be available for pick up the next day from noon on.

Can you ship the item that I make?  Yes! Shipping can be arranged on the day of the appointment.

What is the age limit?  The minimum age to make an ornament is 6. For a bowl, flower, and pumpkin 16 years old. And 18 and up for paperweights.

How do I move or cancel my appointment?  Please go to the email you received when booking to modify your appointment. You can do this up to the day before your appointment, any later and we have to do it for you.

How should I dress? Please wear closed-toe shoes, long pants, and layers on top as it gets very hot near the furnace. It’s a good idea to bring a water bottle as well.

How many people are in a class?  Each 15-minute or 20-minute appointment (depending on the class booked) is for one person onlyPaperweight classes are by default for 1 person but can accommodate a couple.

How do I make more than one item during my appointment or book for a group of people to all go together? Decide the total items (e.g. 6 ornaments) you or your group want to make and choose that option on the booking page. It will show you where there is a spot for all back-to-back.

Can we go at the same time or have the group watch? While there is only space for one person to be near the furnace at a time, the rest of your group is welcome to watch and listen to the teacher and take photos from the front of the viewing area (shown below) as everyone takes turns!

IF YOU FEEL SICK, PLEASE STAY HOME. Thank you for considering others! For any other questions please email: glass@hudsonbeachglass.com

Always wanted to try glass but never had the opportunity? This is the class for you. Come and experience the fun of working with glass and making your very own paperweight. In this class, you will work one-on-one with our instructor who will guide you through making a beautiful one-of-a-kind paperweight, giving you information about the material, process, and tools. Come into our shop and experience the heat and thrill of glass making while in a safe and comfortable environment. Due to the physical demands of glass working, this class is offered only to ages 18 and up.  No experience is needed, all Materials are included.

This class can accommodate up to 2 people taking turns to make one paperweight together! Great for couples. Just let us know in the checkout notes that that is what you’d like to do.

Instructors for Glassblowing Class

Kathleen Andersen

“I graduated in 2008 with a BFA from Alfred University, with a Concentration in Glass and Painting. My love for teaching comes from the basic joy of sharing something I love with others. Being present to see the surprise and wonder on a student’s face the first time they work with the glass, to seeing the satisfaction and joy that is present when they finish a piece, is what makes teaching glass so amazing, and fun.” KA
